Ornithogalum are a native of South Africa and love a warm sunny spot in the garden that is free draining. They produce long strong stems with up to 30 flowers per stem. Their soft green, fleshly foliage make them lovely in the garden and can be used to make a wonderful cut flower. Flowering is in early Summer and they can produce flower spikes up to 50 cm, plant them 4 - 6 cm apart and 8 - 10 cm deep. For best results, feed with bulb fertilizer. Lovely “Chincherinchees” are very free flowering, easy to
grow and make a beautiful cut flower. They prefer a sunny well drained position, but will
tolerate most garden areas. Best planted in bold clumps.
